Crazy 'bout Karloff

Still one of my all time favorite movie stars. Love that moment in virtually all his films when BK (no matter how unsympathetic the character he's playing) scrunches his eyebrows into a big hairy upside down 'v' and sucks us into seeing things his way. "Damn that old medical establishment! All the guy wants to do is make one little unauthorized experiment with some radioactive-synthetic blood!" Then in THE VERY SAME SHOT, he tilts his head, flips those eyebrows down and looks up (see picture) toggling that mood in an instant! Our man Boris has become (no matter how sympathetic the character he's playing) the one guy you don't want to screw around with! "Wait a minute!!! Who's arteries are we using????"

Creepy Little Green Thing
