Monk-ie Business

When I grew up, there were an awful lot of comic strips, syndicated newspaper panels and such built around monks, friars and nuns... Brother Juniper and that sort. Back then, I think your basic working cartoonist had to have a good monastery gag ready at all times (and a desert island gag, and a psychiatrist couch gag, etc.). Now, not so much. Today, I suspect you wouldn't stand a prayer getting a cleric gag cartoon published unless it also involved an alter boy.
