Damn Cold

This is a picture of a TV weatherman pounding a nail into a board with a banana. That's what they do here in Minnesota when you have many days of sub zero temps. They also whip pots of boiling water up and down to make everything turn into instant steam. And frozen t-shirts! They always seem to have a shirt laying around stiff as a board. We are in the middle of one hundred hours of below zero weather, which is a little unusual, but I've lived in Duluth for over 30 years and all that time I've owned a television. Apparently there are no new tricks.

It's either that or frying an egg on the sidewalk on those rare July days. Ho hum. Sometimes I think if we didn't have televisions or radio, it would just be "really cold," which, you know, is good enough for me.

You have to have a good sense of humor or stamina to live in this region. STAY WARM OUT THER.

Stamina be damned. I think our brain cells are frostbitten.
