THE MUMMY

"Frankenstein" may have made Boris Karloff famous but this is the one that probably made him a movie star. A big commercial hit (unlike his immediate Frankenstein follow up, "The Old Dark House") this is the film that helped Universal figure out that you didn't sell tickets by making BK unrecognizable in every role... you sold tickets by making him instantly identifiable INSPITE of every new make-up job.
